Worship Service for 1/24/2021
GREETING
The call of Christ compels us to join with Christ who laid down his life for us. The love of our neighbor compels us to join with one another on the journey of faith. The needs of the world compel us to join with our community in serving one another. Our Creator who made us all, compels us to join in the work of God in this world. The question for us: will we join Christ who calls us to follow him?
Good morning and welcome to Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Dallas. This question of following our Lord is ever more important in our world that puts us so many “other” things to follow. We pray as you worship with us today, you will embrace whatever path Jesus is calling you to travel. It may not be an easy walk, but it will be one you will not walk alone.

- A reminder that our Stated Congregational Meeting will be held next Sunday, the 31st, at 12:00pm (noon). An email containing the agenda for the meeting, as well as the link for the Zoom meeting. If you did not receive the email, please let the office know as soon as possible.
- We lift prayers for Bonnie Lucas who has tested positive for COVID19. May the symptoms be mild and the recovery full.
- We continue to keep Tom and Sylvia Falcon in prayer. Sylvia remains in a rehab center and a spot has been discovered on her kidney. Prayers for Tom as he continues to search ways to bring Sylvia home for care.
- At this writing, Tom Pappas has been able to spend some time off of the ventilator as the medical team monitors his strength of his own breathing. The medical staff and family are encouraged by his progress, as well as Michele’s progress. We keep them both, and the family in prayer as they move toward healing.
- For all within and beyond our church family facing illness, disease, economic hardships, emotional stress and spiritual dryness, may the Lord of healing and comfort be with them.
- For all who lead our country and the world, may healing conversations and torn-down barriers bring us all back to a place of peace.
- Thanksgiving for first-responders of all vocations and our armed forces who put their lives on the line for the health and betterment of all.
