Worship Service for 1/31/2021
GREETING!
From Psalm 111, we hear that in the presence of God and in the company of one another, we are to remember God’s majestic and wonderful works, we are to gather and express our wonder and delight that God should care so graciously for us and we are to give our praise for God’s faithfulness. Today, we remember and do all of these as we worship.
Welcome to Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Dallas. As you join us for worship this day, may the peace of the Lord fall upon you with gentleness and boldness as we move into a new year remembering that our God is a God of second chances. As we continue to wait together in this pandemic, may our hearts be even more and ever more find strength in waiting on the Lord. We pray that if the Spirit moves you in any way to a new belief in Jesus as Lord or into a deeper affirmation of that belief, you will go and share the Good News with others.
*We will be convening our Stated Congregational Meeting following worship today at 12:00 p.m. (noon) If you have not received the link to the Zoom meeting, please notify the office.
As we join our hearts together in prayer, we remember:
OPENING PRAYER
Holy Spirit, come to each one gathered here, and to all who are part of this community of faith. Come to our city, our nation, our world, for we need the light and salvation you offer. Amen.

As we join our hearts together in prayer, we remember:
- Evelyn Parker’s niece, Angela Easterwood, has tested positive for COVID19. We pray comfort and full restoration to health.
- Prayers for the Bradley family at the passing of Doug. Betty Crabtree is a friend of Doug’s son, James.
- Thanksgiving that Tom Pappas has been released from ICU to a step-down care unit and will continue therapy.
- We pray God’s watch and healing for Janet Muller as she prepares for gall bladder surgery.
- We keep the Rozell’s, Jackie, and her husband Audrey, members of the former congregations of Westshore and Colonial, and friends to the Bennetts, Vicki Lynn and Stella, in our prayers. Jackie is at home in a coma, as a result of a degenerative brain disorder called CJD.
- We hold Janet and John Hayes close to our hearts at the loss of Janet’s father.
