Worship Service
GREETING !
Jesus is coming! From the mountainside, from the seaside, from the homes of the rich and the company of the poor, from the bedside of those who are sick, Jesus is coming! Along dusty roads, with a ragged band of travelers, Jesus comes to Jerusalem, Jesus comes to worship. Will we greet him with Hosannas?
Announcements
*Thanks be to God for the gift of in-person worship! We will return on April 2, Good Friday for a 6:30 service. We will greet each on resurrection Sunday, Easter, April 4 at 11:00 a.m. and, God willing, our Sunday services will continue to be in-person moving forward, as well delivered via social media and email. For all who have given time and talent by serving as liturgists, as producers, as sharers of our worship with one another, thanks be to God and thank you from me. Please continue to keep in prayer all whose hearts, hands, finances and prayers are moving us toward restoration of the building and a return to the ministries to which we have been called. Sherry
*During Holy Week, you will be receiving daily devotionals via email that invite you to walk with our Lord as he walked his way to Jerusalem. We invite the whole family to use these as a time of gathering, giving thanks and praying.
*The One Great Hour of Sharing offering will be received on Easter Sunday, April 4th. Offerings received will be split between the Denomination and Pleasant Grove Food Pantry. For the denominational portion of the OGHS, three programs are supported by this offering: Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People.
Prayers
*Bill and Doris Parker have moved to the Houston area to be closer to family. We received a call from Doris asking for prayers for Bill who fell and broke his leg.
*We keep Janet Muller in prayer as she has experienced a number of diagnostic tests this past week and a surgical procedure for her spine.
*We continue to give thanks to God for all medical staff and first responders who have walked and worked unbelievable long hours to care for all who suffered from COVID19, as well as continuing to care for all the illnesses and life sorrows that have plagued our world and country. May the find rest and restful hearts in the Lord.
OPENING PRAYER
We have come to meet you today, Jesus. We don’t know quite what to expect. We think we know what we need, how you can meet our needs. But we come humbly, laying our coats before you. It’s your call. Reveal to us who you are, how you can be a Savior in our lives, a Savior in our world today. Come Lord Jesus! Amen
