Worship Service for 3/7/2021
GREETING !
The grace and peace of our Lord who invites us all to worship this and every day. And today, welcome from Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Lent reminds us that we are fragile, mortal, and sometimes broken, that we know loss and that we lose our way. Yet we are always also loved by God, wildly and extravagantly, and in these limited mortal lives of ours we might reflect that love of God in what we do and who we are.

GOOD FRIDAY AND EASTER
The Psalmist says: I was glad when they said, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
It is with joy that the decision has been made to re-enter our sanctuary for worship!
You are invited to return for the Good Friday service on April 2 at 6: 30 p.m.
and gather to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord
on Easter Sunday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m.
Recalling the Lord’s faithful following of the will of God, we gather on Good Friday to remember the death of Jesus in order that we might be given new life. On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the risen Christ who has indeed offered to all peoples salvation and a new way of living!

Be assured that all CDC guidelines and protocols will remain in place and practiced as we return to worship. As Good Friday and Easter draw nearer you will be receiving more information about those protocols and practices. Services will continue to be distributed by video, the written texts will continue to be emailed, and in the near future our services will also be livestreamed.
Prayers
*We keep Cookie Valadez in prayer as he prepares for knee replacement surgery on one knee on March 22, followed by a time of healing, then the other knee.
*We continue to prayer for healing for Shari Smith’s mother, Marian Kringle, following a break in her femur and surgery to repair it. Marian is just a month shy of her 97th birthday and was able to sit in a chair the day after surgery!
*Mark and Karen Summers are Gary’s and Sherry’s neighbors. We lift Mark’s sister, Donna Burkey, and all the family in prayer as Donna is fighting cancer.
*Please keep Bobbe Brown in prayer after a short stay in the hospital for an infection.
*We keep those with homes, businesses, places of worship in prayer who are still reeling from the effects of our winter storm on so many levels. We keep our own congregation in prayer as we move forward with cleaning and clearing and re-making so much of our educational wing and Fellowship Hall damaged by water. We give thanksgiving that the sanctuary, the office and the west side courtyard rooms were undamaged.
Ann Siddall wrote: Only the hungry search for bread. Only the thirsty look for water. This is a place for those who are hungry and thirsty in spirit. Only those who ache for meaning will pursue it. Only those who yearn for a deeper life will seek it. This is a place for those who ache and yearn for something more. So let us be in the presence of the Lord today with our hunger and thirst, our unsatisfied longings, our heart-felt yearnings, and let the God of life satisfy our souls.
