Worship Service for 3/14/2021
GREETING !
We come from many scattered places and lives to find our hope in the call that we are to be one in the Lord. In the unity of our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer, may our hearts find rest, trusting in the love and salvation of our Lord.
Welcome to Dallas, Texas where we are known for experiencing winter, spring, summer and fall, all in a day’s time! And welcome to Eastminster Presbyterian Church where we give not only thanksgiving for the gift of seasons, but for the many seasons of our lives. Our prayer this morning as you worship with us it that you will be reminded that the Spirit is with you in whatever season your heart is experiencing right now, and the Spirit will so touch you that you embrace the gift of God’s saving grace in Jesus as your Lord.
*We are blessed to be able to announce that we will once again worship in our sanctuary beginning at Good Friday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m. and then begin our Sunday morning services with joy on the day of our Lord’s resurrection, Easter Sunday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m. We will continue to follow the CDC guidelines for gathering, providing a space as safe and healthy as possible. You can go to our website at www.eastminsterdallas.org to learn more about the protocols for entering the sanctuary.
*As the restoration of the educational wing, damaged by water during the ice storm, continues, Sunday School classes, Eastminster Presbyterian Women, study groups and meetings will continue to be offered via Zoom.
*If you are seeking a new or renewed relationship with the Lord, please feel free to speak with me or request a Zoom invitation to a Bible study or….thanks be to God, join with us in person as we worship.
*Our prayers continue for all our members and friends who are awaiting test results, preparing for procedures and operations, living with pain and long-term illnesses, celebrating the joys of life or giving thanksgiving to God that at the end of life, we have an eternal home.
*Today, we keep Vicki Thiebaud, Debbie, Natalie and Lexie Cherry in our hearts with the loss of Vicki’s brother, Randy. Debbie, Randy’s wife, has known Randy since she was 16 years old, so as she and the girls remember Randy, may it be with precious memories.
*Susie Fielding fell and broke her right hip this morning. Surgery is scheduled for sometime tomorrow at Methodist Health Center in Richardson. May the pain be minimal, the surgery successful and the recovery full.
*Also, keep Loren and Lenore Field in prayer. Loren is Helen Randolph's son and Lenore, her daughter-in-law. They have been diagnosed with COVID19. We pray the symptoms will be few and the road to recovery smooth and sooner than later.
*Janet Muller is also scheduled for a colonoscopy on March 26 as she continues to seek answers for stomach issues. May the results provide both an answer and a path to healing.
OPENING PRAYER
You are here, Lord, in this place. Now. Not only do we stand in awe of how great you are, larger than our imagination, but we also can scarcely comprehend that you are with us this moment. In extra-ordinary, as well as common, every-day ways, you make your presence known to us. This is your time of worship, God. Do great things with us right now, and in the week which lies ahead. We pray this, in the name of our Lord. Amen
